Goosefeather represents the inaugural venture of Food Crush Hospitality, a collaborative endeavor spearheaded by Chef Talde and his wife, Agnes. About the RoleThis is a temporary Beverage Manager position to support Goosefeather’s operations while the current Beverage Manager is on leave. The role is expected to last a minimum of twelve (12) weeks, with the possibility of extension. This role reports directly to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and General Manager (GM). The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the beverage program at Goosefeather, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and the highest quality beverages. This includes crafting innovative cocktails, maintaining a diverse and well-curated wine list, managing beverage costs, training staff, and working closely with the culinary team to create a cohesive and memorable dining experience. Weekly Pay: $1,538.46 (GROSS) Benefits: This is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits Responsibilities Beverage Program Management: Develop and maintain a beverage program that aligns with Goosefeather’s culinary vision, featuring a balance of classic and innovative cocktails, a diverse selection of wines, and a premium spirits list. Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, ordering, and storage of all beverages, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste. Menu Development: Collaborate with Chef Dale Talde and the culinary team to create beverage pairings and seasonal cocktail menus that enhance the overall dining experience. Staff Training: Train and mentor front-of-house staff on beverage knowledge, preparation techniques, and service standards. Ensure that all staff members are equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Bar Team Management: Manage and schedule the bar team, ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate for business needs and that the team is well-supported and motivated. Guest Experience: Engage with guests to provide recommendations and ensure satisfaction with the beverage offerings. Address any concerns or special requests promptly and professionally. Cost Management: Monitor and control beverage costs, including pricing strategies, portion control, and inventory management to achieve financial goals. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices. Requirements Proven experience as a Beverage Manager or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktail creation, with a passion for innovation in beverage offerings. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and inspire a team. Solid understanding of inventory management and cost control. Familiarity with New York State liquor laws and regulations. A commitment to providing outstanding guest service. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on quality and efficiency. WSET certification or equivalent is a plus. Goosefeather is an equal opportunity employer.
